Meibum quality and quantity are related to meibomian gland dysfunction, which is the leading cause of DED.

​

Exam Procedure:​

  1. Install Lens C.

  2. Evert the upper lid gently and adjust brightness as needed.

  3. Focus the camera on the meibomian glands and capture images.

  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the lower lid.

 

The system automatically analyzes the captured images for loss area and grades accordingly.
