INTERFEROMETRY

The lipid layer is crucial for tear film stability. Interferometry measures its thickness by analyzing the interference patterns of white light reflected from the lipid layer's surface; fewer colored fringes indicate a thinner layer.

Exam Procedure:​

Install Lens A or B. (B recommended)

Position camera to view lipid layer.

Press capture to record, instructing the patient to blink every 2 seconds for 2-3 blinks.

Click analyze to compare images to software references.
